Lemon&Ginger

I have been really into tea lately, as well as (attempting) to be healthy. When I was in London a few weeks ago, my aunt introduced me to the yummiest lemon and ginger tea. Unfortunately, it was from Daylesford Organic, an amazing deli and market in Notting Hill. The best substitute I have found is yogi tea's lemon and ginger. I bought mine from Whole Foods, but you can get it at any grocery store. Its so delicious, and I find that it helps me drift off to sleep perrrrfffeeecctttly.

Born Cool

I am beyond obsessed with Theodora Richards at the moment (on the left, with sister Alexandra on the right). Rock royalty, she has amazing style. I think she is one of those people who were just born cool. I love her long, messy hair. I have been attempting to style mine in a similar manner, as follows: when about 70% dry, add Moroccan Oil to the ends, and Bumble and Bumble Styling Creme from mid to ends. I dry it was a large round brush, and while it's still warm, twist it in a knot without a hair grip. This prevents it creasing. Then before I leave I run the ends over with the straightner, and spritz lightly with Charles Worthington Rough&Tousled Salt Spray. Currently on the quest for hair powder to add volume and texture at the roots. Definitely taking suggestions! I'll keep you posted.

Urban Outiftters

Thought I would fill you in on a few of my current favorites from UO.
1. Pins and Needles Puff Sleeve Faux Fur Coat. I can't even begin to tell you how much I want this coat. It's so perfect for winter, and for those of us who are disgusted by the thought of real fur (go us!), it's a perfect substitute. Love the puff sleeve, the lack of collar, and adoreeee the color. Someone else please buy this just because I can't! P.S.- it's on sale!
2. BDG Fisherman Cardigan. Just bought it in store this weekend, where it wasn't on sale for 49.99, but if an item is on sale online, print it out and bring it it, and they will match the price. I love how cozy it is, I got the creme color and I can't wait to wear it on my upcoming trip to London. I had one a few years ago and wore it to death. It looks so great with skinnies, or even over a dress with tights and riding boots. Well worth the money. It does get a little bit pulled and bobbled after awhile, but I think it just adds to the look of the sweater.
3. Pleasure Doing Business Aztec Print Skirt. I own this, and I can't even tell you how many compliments I get on it. I usually pair it with a black pocket tee (relatively loose, but not too long), tights, and ankle boots. Warning: be careful what bag you wear it with. I have another in black, and after a night out with my sequin purse, the side of it is all shredded and ruined. Learn from my mistake!!

Liquid Eyeliner

Very important news for all you liquid eyeliner addicts out there: the search for the perfect liquid eyeliner is over (as far as I'm concerned). Lorac's Front of the Line Pro is by far the best eyeliner I have ever tried. I bought it in a kit from Sephora, which teaches idiots like myself how to fool people into thinking I'm sexy using smokey eyeshadow. Anyway, it glides on so smoothly, and is so easy to control. I've been experimenting with the winged eyeliner look lately. I'm really liking how it makes my eyes appear elongated, but dislike that my boyfriend likens me to a cat after spending hours in the mirror perfecting it. Swing by Sephora and pick one up, and PLEASE send me your winged eye tips before my boyfriend lays out a bowl of milk for me on the kitchen floor.

Since I have super thin and fine hair, Lauren Conrad-esque curls are beyond my wildest dreams. UNTIL I heard about Redken Spray Starch from a girl in my sorority. This stuff is a God send ladies. Spray onto your strands before you fry it with the iron (the starch has protective properties so your strands arent really getting torched), and the curls hold amazingly. It feels really crunchy when you first spray it, but after curling it the starch is less starchy, but keeps its hold. I bought mine at ULTA but it is available online and at many salons and beauty stores. I hope you love this as much as I do!

Found this. Thought it was cute and wanted to share. I am really loving the bow headband, the bigger the better in my opinion. Forever 21 has the best stuff ever if you can seperate the cheap from the classy. Look at shop by outfit tab and its a goldmine!

When did buying bathing suits get so costly? I strongly believe in the importance of maintaining a large bathing suit wardrobe, consisting of many colors and styles. However, while I am a huge fan of affordable bathing suits, its key to buy an expensive one every summer or so, as they are much better quality. Here is a cute Missoni/Vix style one from Old Navy that I am loving ($15 as of 6.20.09).

ShopBop is trying to sabotage my bank account. I found the CUTEST dress ever and need it. NEED it. Young Fabulous and Broke (hmmm my life? but more broke and less fabulous??). Hit up shopbop and check this cute grey and white t-shirt/ruffle combo. Simple and sweet, would look gorgeous with bronze gladiators, or with ankle booties as pictured. Love it. Order the RaRa Dress and you will be well on your way to channeling Serena Van Der Woodsen.

P.S.- Young Fabulous and Broke have MOUNTAINS of cute clothes. Dying.

Summer is here, and between work and being a lazy bum, I have had little time to tan. I was poking my nasty pale legs the other day and realized its time to make a change. As a former tanorexic (even tanning beds I am ashamed to admit), fake bake seems less than appealing. After hearing from my cousin about Xen Tan I decided to check it out. I adore it. I have tried countless department/drug store concoctions with little luck. I was previously a follower of St. Tropez, but found it made me look dirty and muddy. I put Xen tan on one morning before running errands, and was delighted to find it didnt smell at all like fake tanner (saved me a lot of embarrassment when shopping at LuLuLemon later that day). It comes out an amazing golden brown color, and I had NO streaks! Not one. I am in heaven. For those of you who aren't willing to give up the beds, but ready to start weaning off them, try Benefit Talk To The Tan. Its a gel like temporary fake tanner, meaning it washes off at night with the rest of your make-up. Its been a long time staple of mine. Enjoy!

After starting Taebo at a local gym, I have become workout crazy (weird, I know... I'm just hoping it lasts). Anyway, after talking with a friend and learning that my Nike Shox are horrible for your shins and give your shin splints, I decided its time for some sneaker shopping. Fell in love with the Nike Free 5.0 V4 Womens Running Shoes. Soooo cute and meant to be comfy and supportive. I love them and I need them. Now accepting donations.

After seeing the Hangover last week (peeing my pants hysterical) I became infatuated with this song played in the "morning after" pool scene. After searches and searches I discovered its called What Do You Say? by Mickey Avalon. Buy it. Play it. Love it.

P.S.- difficult to find a playable version...boo hoo

Ped Eggs. Ew so nasty I can't even stand it. Like seriously, shaving off skin from your feet and storing it in a plastic shell is repulsive. Dumping it out is the worst of the worst. I have nightmares about those nasty white shavings. News flash to the inventors of Ped Egg: Making a foot shaver in the shape of an egg DOES NOT make shaving the hard skin off your feet any cuter.

Love It (Marissa Miller Style)

So after reading Marissa Miller's interview in Shape Magazine (June 2009), I decided I would memorize everything she did and hope to look exactly like her. Lets just see how that works out. Anyhow, Marissa seems to have the knack of looking good down, so I ran out and bought some GNU Flavor and Fiber bars (which Marissa says are delish and good for you). They are pretty pricey ($1.99 per bar) but they taste so good! And are full of fiber, which is even better. Each bar packs about 48% of your daily value, which is about the same amount of fiber you get from eating 4 bowls of cheerios! They have a handy comparison chart on the GNU Foods website that compares different fiber bars, and theirs is the clear choice. Hey, if its good enough for Marissa its good enough for me! Check out http://www.gnufoods.com/

P.S.- Marissa boxes....time to sign up for boxing classes!!!!

Currently in search of the perfect matte, nude nail polish...however, in the mean time OPI's Sand In My Suit from the South Beach collection will suffice. A slightly shimmery beige, Sand In My Suit is perfect for summer on tanned hands, with short, groomed nails. Love it!
